Measure the furniture at its widest, tallest and deepest points, then measure the narrowest opening and turn on the route out.
Measure the item as it sits
Record width, height and depth. Include arms, feet, handles and trim. For a reclining sofa or sleeper, note moving sections and unusual weight. Photograph removable legs or backs instead of assuming they come off.
Measure the route, not only the door
A piece can fit through the garage opening and still fail at a side gate, parked vehicle or sharp turn. Check the clear opening with the door fully open, the path width and the overhead clearance.
Empty storage furniture
Remove drawers, contents and loose shelves when it is safe to do so. Keep hardware in a labeled bag if the item may be reused. Do not dismantle glued joints or powered furniture unless you know the maker's process.
Call out weight and condition
Water damage, broken frames or pest activity can change the handling plan. Pianos, safes and unusually heavy shop furniture need advance confirmation.
Measurement note
- Furniture dimensions
- Narrowest opening
- Tightest turn
- Number of steps
- Parts that detach safely

Material restrictions and municipal options should be checked against the current City of Redlands solid-waste and household hazardous-waste guidance. Service scope is confirmed during the estimate call.
